Witney Eco Forum

Witney Eco Forum is an inclusive environmental group.

We meet every month to hear speakers from different climate interest groups; to share ideas and generate actions that will combat the climate and ecological emergencies and wider social injustice issues.

All members of the community, young and old, are welcome at Witney Eco Forum meetings, and are encouraged to work towards mitigating climate change and helping to achieve Net Zero.

Our next event

Our next meeting re-visits the twists and turns of Thames Water and the effect the company has on our local waterways.

With the Water Minister saying the government would wait until taps run dry before taking control of Thames Water but even the potential new owner of the company calling for it to be in temporary public ownership, we can safely say that any pretence that privatised water is a success has been flushed away. Windrush Against Sewage Pollution has been one of the key leaders in the exposure of the water scandal and this talk from Ash Smith will be right up to date with the latest twists and turns from the financial predators controlling our water industry, the regulators, and even our government – and what you can do to fight for our rivers, lakes and seas.

WEF meets at St Mary’s church on the Green, Witney, OX28 4AW, on Thursday 13 November, bar opens at 7.00pm, speaker starts at 7.30pm. We look forward to seeing you there!
