Witney Eco Forum
Witney Eco Forum is an inclusive environmental group.
We meet every month to hear speakers from different climate interest groups; to share ideas and generate actions that will combat the climate and ecological emergencies and wider social injustice issues.
All members of the community, young and old, are welcome at Witney Eco Forum meetings, and are encouraged to work towards mitigating climate change and helping to achieve Net Zero.
Our next event
Air pollution is the greatest environmental risk to human health in the UK responsible for an estimated 26,000 to 38,000 early deaths each year. Oxford City and many market towns have recognised air quality challenges and have designated Air Quality Management Areas. In recent years air quality has improved, however our knowledge of health harms has also advanced, and air pollution still represents a risk to those living, working and visiting Oxfordshire.
In this talk we will we consider trends and patterns of air pollution over time and how the COVID-19 pandemic provided new insights. We consider the health benefits which may be achieved through coordinated policy actions and implications for behaviour change in our daily lives
Dr Suzanne Bartington, Clinical Associate Professor in Environmental Health from Birmingham University will be our speaker, on Thursday 10 April, at St Mary’s church on the Green, Witney, OX28 4AW. Bar opens at 7.00pm, speaker starts at 7.30
