About Us – Witney Eco Forum

How we began and how it’s going

Witney Eco Forum came into being after the pandemic in March 2022. Our founder Kate Banks had been getting involved with different groups around the Witney area who were all in some way dedicated to promoting action against climate change, and decided to host a meeting to offer these groups a forum. This has grown into a regular monthly event, with fantastic speakers from the areas of farming, politics, eco activism, water pollution, the local council and many more.

Our ‘bring and share’ Christmas party and quiz is now established as an enjoyable social evening where we can get to know each other better, and we enjoy The Rector’s Arms bar at all our meetings.

Witney Eco Forum Connects People

We aim to be a hub that helps different interest groups to introduce their work to a wider audience, and gives people the opportunity to support action again climate change in their chosen way.

Witney Eco Forum encourages people to make things happen

Armed with the knowledge we gain from our expert speakers, we can put public pressure on our local authorities, utility companies and political leaders, and better engage with them to influence strategies, services and priorities.

Witney Eco Forum is grateful to the Witney PCC and St Mary’s Church for the use of Winchester Room.
