The next meeting of Witney Eco Forum will be on Thursday 12 September 2024, at St Mary’s church on the Green, Witney, OX28 4AW.  The bar opens at 7.00pm and the speaker will start at 7.30pm.

An exploration of our responses to the threats posed by climate change. We will look at some of the research into climate anxiety, and how we can build our mental resilience as we come to terms with what is happening to our planet. Duncan (Forbes) has worked in NHS management, as the bursar of an Oxford college, and – most rewarding of all – as the CEO of a hospice. At the latter he was privileged to observe the various ways in which people respond to major crises in their lives. This experience informs his interest in how we might live positively and creatively in the face of the existential threats of our time – climate change and ecological collapse.
